Arusha, 13 November, 2017: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) today began its 47th Ordinary Session at its seat in Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania.
 
The Judges, among others, will examine over 15 applications during the two-week session scheduled to end on 24 November, 2017.
 At least two judgments are expected to be delivered during this session.

Arusha, 6 November, 2017: The Third African Judicial Dialogue, organised by the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) under the auspices of the African Union (AU),  which was earlier planned from 8 to 10 November in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, will now be held from 9 to 11 November in Arusha, Tanzania, the seat of the Court.

The Dialogue will be attended by about 150 delegates from AU Member States, including Chief Justices, Presidents of Supreme and Constitutional Courts from the 55 AU Member States, as well as regional and international judicial bodies and other relevant stakeholders.

Arusha, 2 November, 2017: The Third African Judicial Dialogue, organised by the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR), under the auspices of the African Union (AU), in collaboration with the World Bank, the German Cooperation (GiZ) and the European Union (EU), will be held from 8 to 10 November, 2017 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

Arusha, 25 September, 2017: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) will render 10 decisions on Thursday 28 September 2017 at its seat in Arusha, Tanzania, in the following matters:

1. On 2 September 2017, the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the Court), in collaboration with the World Bank, organized a preparatory (pre-judicial dialogue) meeting for the Third Judicial Dialogue. 

Arusha, 2 Septmeber, 2017: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) will hold its 46th Ordinary Session from 4- 22 September 2017 at its seat in Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania.

Arusha, 15 August, 2017:  The President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau H. E José Mário Vaz has pledged to ratify the Protocol establishing the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) soonest.

Arusha, 10 August, 2017: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) will undertake a sensitization visit to the Republic of Guinea Bissau from
14 -15 August 2017.

Arusha, 19 July 2017: Forty lawyers registered with the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) to represent indigent Applicants before the Court, will undergo a three-day intensive training next month in Arusha.

Arusha, 23 May, 2017: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) on Friday, (26 May, 2017), will deliver Judgment in Application 006/2012 filed by the  African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights v. Republic of Kenya, at its seat in Arusha, Tanzania.
